[ARCHIVED] Hobbit Immersion Camp 2017 @ Your Lewis & Clark Library!

Hobbit Immersion Camp 2017 @ Your Lewis & Clark Library!

June 16, 2017 (Helena, MT)—Reading during the summer is fun and a great way to keep your skills sharp during the summer time break from school. It is also a great time for               middle-schoolers to get a jump on that summer reading list. Your Lewis & Clark Library is pleased to participate in Signum University’s FREE two-week program on J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit.

This program is designed to get middle-schoolers involved in a guided, interactive summer reading program based on Tolkien’s classic fantasy story. The program runs for two weeks, from July 10th through 21st. Participants entering grades 6-8 will have access to daily web-based content, provided by Signum University. Participants will also meet four times at Lewis & Clark Library for discussion and activities.

A basic daily plan looks like this:

1. Campers read assigned chapters at home.

2. Campers attend the daily online session, at the Library, or at home.

3. Meet at Lewis & Clark Library on July 12, 13, 17, and 21 from 1-3 pm to work on projects and chat about the book. Locations will switch between the Small and Large Meeting Rooms.

Participation is limited; parents or guardians must register their child online at: https://docs.google.com/a/3jscommunication.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSckXHfJJlaoN9wmNCpAtHGWAmuSsq1rZ9rE_YuV9E_BAt6poA/viewform?c=0&w=1.  This registration link will allow access to Signum University’s daily web content and lessons. A limited supply of The Hobbit will be available to participants beginning July 1. Participants may ask for a copy at the Information Desk.
