Lewis & Clark Library Mobile Services
Bookmobile and Words on Wheels Library

The Lewis & Clark Library Mobile Services include the Lewis & Clark Library Bookmobile and the Words on Wheels Library. The bookmobile became the newest branch of the library system in November of 2012 and the Words on Wheels Library was generously donated by the Lewis & Clark Library Foundation in 2019.

Lewis and Clark Library Bookmobile
Effective November 1, 2021 the Lewis & Clark Library Bookmobile library services will be temporarily suspended due to a staffing shortage. Library items can be returned to any Lewis & Clark Library building or the remote drops listed on our website, www.lclibrary.org.
For library information please call the Main Library in Helena at (406)447-1690.
Please visit this page in the coming weeks, as the bookmobile schedule
for stop dates and times will be posted here once we are back on the road.
We look forward to seeing you again soon!

The bookmobile maintains a year around schedule and is an all ages library.
Visiting the bookmobile is like stepping into any of our library buildings with items available for checkout, free Wi-Fi, a computer station, account access, programs for patrons, library cards, and staff are available for questions at the Public Services desk.

The Lewis & Clark Library will not be accepting nor adding additional bookmobile stops until December 2021. If your organization is interested in becoming a bookmobile stop or you would like to request a community stop in a certain area, please fill out the Bookmobile Stop Request Form on the right side of this page and either
return it to the library or email it to
We can not guarantee a stop will be created but all forms
returned to us are considered.

Bookmobile stops that were placed on pause during the COVID-19 pandemic and would like to be considered to be put back on the schedule should contact the Lewis & Clark Library Bookmobile Librarian in December 2021 at BByrd@lclibrary.org or
 (406)447-1690 x131 for any updates.

Words on Wheels Library
The Words on Wheels Library is a bicycle library that provides library services during the Summer months around the Lewis and Clark County community. The library bicycle was generously donated by the Lewis & Clark Library Foundation in 2019 and has been serving our community ever since.
The WOW Library provides free Wi-Fi, a small collection available for checkout, Take and Make crafts, and can issue library cards. When you see us around town, come check it out!

If you would like the Words on Wheels Library to visit your event or community gathering please email bbyrd@lclibrary.org. We have limited staffing for the WOW Library so we can not guarantee a visit from the bike but all requests are considered. Thank you!
