Roofing Project Complete!
January 12, 2016 (Helena, MT)—After nearly four months, 117,700 square feet of insulation, and 25,600 square feet of FiberTite Roofing Membrane, the fencing is finally coming down and Your Lewis & Clark Library boasts a brand new, energy efficient roof!
Lewis & Clark Library Director Judy Hart expressed her gratitude to everyone, stating that, “we know that the parking lot closure has been an inconvenience to our patrons, vendors, and other downtown businesses but we truly appreciate everyone’s patience during this process.”
While the roof is complete, there still remains some drain work and painting, but those jobs should be completed soon. Hart expects the parking lot to be fully accessible by Friday, January 15th, and other disruptions to be minimal as work concludes.
With the completion of the re-roofing, Your Lewis & Clark Library boasts a very energy efficient roof that according to Hart, “will save tax payers a lot of money as we are already seeing a difference in our energy use.” The insulation alone has an average R-Value of 53, which combined with the energy efficiency of the FiberTite material will result in significant savings for the Library.
Hart also commends the work of the contractors and the architect for making the process as positive as possible. “We were so lucky to have CWG Architects; Contractor, Summit Roofing, Inc.; and Sub-Contractor Big Sky Plumbing and Heating working on this project. They all worked together to achieve great results for us.” Legendary Painting will be completing some minor painting on the drains once Big Sky Plumbing completes their work.
The Library will now focus on the solar panel project, which is expected to be completed during 2016. “We are waiting to hear on grant information before we move ahead, but we are very excited to complete this process which will provide even greater energy efficiency for the Library,” explained Hart.
