Children’s Author and Illustrator Jan Brett is Coming to Helena!

November 5, 2015 (Helena, MT)—Your Lewis & Clark Library and the Montana Book & Toy Co. is pleased to announce that beloved children’s author Jan Brett will be coming to Helena for a one-time only appearance on Thursday, December 10th at 5PM.

Brett, the author of The Mitten and The Hat, will be discussing her new book, The Turnip. “We are delighted to be able to offer this wonderful opportunity to Helena area kids and their grown-ups,” explained Lewis & Clark Library Children’s Librarian Marissa Bazan. “I’m also told that Hedgie, Jan’s favorite friend from The Mitten and The Hat, will be visiting us as well and kiddos can have their picture taken with Hedgie!”

Prior to Brett’s book signing, the author will do a 15 minute drawing illustration and presentation. In addition to meeting the author and learning more about her books, everyone attending will have an opportunity to see Brett’s colorfully decorated tour bus. “The author invites people to stop and take a picture in front of her The Turnip wrapped bus,” explained Bazan.

In order to accommodate everyone wishing to see Brett, the event will be held at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church at 512 Logan Street. The event is free and open to everyone with the first 100 families receiving a signed Jan Brett poster.

According to Brett’s publicist, “Jan will do her very best to sign all of the books that time permits. The number of books that Jan can sign per family depends on how many people come to the signing. If time does not permit Jan to sign every book, Montana Book & Toy Co. will have special signed bookplates featuring Jan’s artwork for all of the extra books.”

For more information log onto www.lclibrary.org or stop by the Montana Book & Toy Co. Don’t miss children’s author and illustrator on December 10th at 5PM at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
