[ARCHIVED] New Civics Book Discussion Group at the Library

Civics Book Discussion at the Library

September 28, 2018 (Helena, MT)—The Lewis & Clark Library has added a book discussion group to focus on matters of civic discourse. Beginning October 17th, the Library will host a Civics Book Discussion on the third Wednesday of each month at 7PM.

Tom Cherry will facilitate a series of book discussions focusing on government, historical perspectives, and related topics. Cherry intends the group to be a place for civil conversation while learning how to be a more knowledgeable and effective citizen.

For October, the group will discuss We Can All Do Better by Bill Bradley. Limited copies of each book are available to borrow at the Information Desk.

Future titles include: Duty: Memoirs of a Secretary at War by Robert M. Gates; Six Amendments: How and Why We Should Change the Constitution by John Paul Stevens; An Infuriating American: The Incendiary Arts of H. L. Mencken by Hal Crowther; and God and Government: Twenty-Five Years of Fighting for Equality, Secularism, and Freedom Of Conscience by Barry Lynn.
