For children of all ages. Join us for this early learning program where we will enjoy stories, songs and movement games that are especially welcoming to children on the autism spectrum or with other special needs. You’ll enjoy a safe, non-judgmental environment, a schedule board for following along and a sensory-sensitive environment. The program begins before the library opens, no other library services are available.

Lewis & Clark Library is pleased to partner with St. Peter’s Health to offer a monthly Safe Sitter course for students in grades 6-8. Participants will learn basic babysitting responsibilities, safety concerns, age appropriate entertainment, babysitting as a business, how to deal with medical emergencies, and what to do when a child chokes. Enrollment is limited to 6-8 students per class, a standard directed by the National Safe Sitter Organization. Students must pass a written exam and rescue breathing/choking on a mannequin in order receive a "certificate of completion." Participants must attend both days of the session. Pre-registration is required.. Registration will open on the first of each month for that month’s class; register at the Information Desk or over the phone. We will have a waiting list. Class meets for 11 hours over 2 days.
