November 6, 2019 (Helena, MT)— As the Library begins the first phase of construction for the remodel, it is necessary to move Children’s Programing to the Myrna Loy until the new Children’s area is completed. The Library is pleased that the Myrna Loy is an open partner and look forward to utilizing the historic space. Beginning Tuesday, November 12th, Books & Babies, Toddler Time, and Story Time will take place at 10:30AM in the lobby area of The Myrna Loy at 15 N. Ewing Street.
During the first phase of the remodel, the Children’s Collection will be temporarily moved into the Large Meeting Room to make space for temporary staff area. As a result, there will not be access to the Story Steps nor will there be room in the Large Meeting Room for programs. “This is to accommodate the relocation of the bathrooms which will begin in the first phase,” explains John Finn, Lewis & Clark Library Director.
In addition to new bathrooms and café in the first phase, the second phase of the remodel will focus on the new and expanded Children’s area. “We are really excited about the expansion of both the Teen and Children’s areas that will also include the addition of a Discovery Room that will be used for hands on programs and classes,” explains Finn.
