Getting Published: A Seminar with Author Jeremy Evans
January 2, 2019 (Helena, MT)—Your Lewis & Clark Library is pleased to welcome author Jeremy Evans to Helena for special seminar focused on getting works published. “Getting Published: A Seminar with Author Jeremy Evans” will take place on Friday, January 25th at 11AM at the Library.
Non-fiction writer Jeremy Evans will discuss various aspects of getting work published. Topics include: should you get an agent; advantages of self-publish vs. traditional houses; how to contact agents and pitch your work. This program is free and open to the public, and we ask that you register by calling 447-1690 or stopping by the Information Desk.
Jeremy Evans is a Lake Tahoe-based journalist and an outdoor adventure writer. He is the author of In Search of Powder: A Story of America’s Disappearing Ski Bum and The Battle for Paradise: Surfing, Tuna and One Town’s Quest to Save the Wave. His forthcoming book, Marco, is about famous French snowboarder Marco Siffredi, who mysteriously went missing on Mount Everest in 2002.
Before authoring these books, Jeremy worked eight years as a journalist and garnered numerous writing wards from the California Newspaper Publishers Association and Nevada Press Association. He’s also contributed to national magazines such as Powder and Skiing, as well as regional outdoor publications such as Adventure Sports Journal.
Jeremy received his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Marquette University and his Master of Arts in Teaching from Sierra Nevada College. He teaches writing and composition courses at Lake Tahoe Community College and South Tahoe High School, and is currently teaching an adventure travel writing course at Sierra Nevada College.
