Books for Babies! Libraries are for everyone, even babies!
March 20, 2017 (Helena, MT)—Was your little one born in the last six months? Do you enjoy reading to your child? Then stop by your Lewis & Clark Library to receive a free board book to keep and read over and over to your little one. Your baby loves to hear your voice, and repetition is great for brain development.
Your Lewis & Clark Library has a variety of early childhood literacy programs to help get your little one on the path to good reading.
Books & Babies 10:30 am and 1:30 pm on Mondays and Tuesday mornings at 10:30 am in the large meeting room. This program helps introduce little ones and their caregivers to story time in activities that includes the development of the five senses as they relate to early literacy.
While you’re at the Library, sign-up for our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten reading program to make sure your little buffalo is ready for kindergarten when the time comes! There is no deadline with this reading program, other than getting your kiddo ready for school success. Set your own pace as you bond over a book with your little one. There are lots of nifty incentives to keep you reading together as you work towards the goal of 1000 books!
1000 books seems like a lot…Yet if you read one book each day for three years, you will have read 1095 books! Sign-up at the info desk to begin this fun reading challenge.
