Lewis & Clark Library is pleased to participate in Signum University’s FREE two-week program on J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit. This program is designed to get middle-schoolers involved in a guided, interactive summer reading program based on Tolkien’s classic fantasy story. The program runs for two weeks, from July 10 through 21. Participants entering grades 6-8 will have access to daily web-based content, provided by Signum University. We’ll also meet four times at Lewis & Clark Library for discussion and activities. A basic daily plan looks like this: 1. Campers read assigned chapters at home. This could be done on-site if there is someone interested in reading the book to the campers. 2. Campers attend the daily online session, on-site or at home. 3. Meet at Lewis & Clark Library on July 12, 13, 17, and 21 from 1-3 PM to work on projects and chat about the book.
