Yes Please
by Amy Poehler
Amy Poehler has the power to endear herself to everyone who enters her world. In this biography she makes you laugh, a lot, but she'll also give you great life advice as she reminds us, we're all just doing the best we can. Read by the author with guests such as Carol Burnett, Seth Meyers, Michael Schur, Patrick Stewart, and Kathleen Turner, this is the most fun you'll have listening to a book, maybe ever!

I love listening to celebrity autobiographies in audiobook format, especially when narrated by the author. It’s fun to learn about how talented people got their start in life. Three of my favorites are Stories I Only Tell My Friends by Rob Lowe, Inside Out by Demi Moore, and Nevertheless by Alec Baldwin. Each of these audiobooks is enjoyable to listen to, heart-felt, full of interesting anecdotes, and well-written. Listening to the stars read is like having them in the room with you as they tell you their life stories.

Naked
by David Sedaris
David Sedaris is a master of both memoir and humor. Sedaris’ voice of chaotic, self-effacing whimsy ensnares and entertains his audience while also poignantly depicting the desperation of his past self’s deep, destructive desire for attention and external validation. Though laced with trauma, tragedy, and adversity Sedaris recounts his life and personal growth in a series of jocular vignettes. It becomes clear that, since becoming a shockingly well-balanced adult and best-selling author, the humor that was once his self-trivializing survival mechanism has become the victory cry of a man who encountered adversity and laughed in its face. Narrated by David Sedaris and his sister, Amy Sedaris.

Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood
by Trevor Noah
I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook written and narrated by Trevor Noah. Listen to this amazing memoir and his stories come alive. You’ll learn about his experiences growing up during and after the apartheid in South Africa. I was amazed at his resiliency and moved to laughter, anger, and disbelief. I don’t regularly watch the Daily Show, but I am definitely a fan of Trevor Noah.

Me
by Elton John
If you enjoyed the movie Rocketman you’ll be happy to know that the audiobook version of Elton John’s memoir, Me, is read by the same actor who portrayed him in the film. Welsh actor Taron Egerton’s accent is easy to listen to and you’ll hear about so many aspects of this talented musician’s complicated life.
