Nonfiction November Staff Picks
It’s “Nonfiction November”—a great time to challenge yourself to check out more great nonfiction books.
People often seek out nonfiction materials for factual information and
reading nonfiction for pleasure sometimes gets overlooked, but librarians will tell you, reading nonfiction can be every bit as compelling as reading fiction titles.
About
a week ago a woman came into the non-contact holds area to pick up a
large stack of books she’d been waiting for. Most of her reading
materials were fiction, but not all, and she explained that she had a goal to read two nonfiction books a month. She said she reads a variety of subjects and misses browsing the new books section to get ideas about what to read next.
So, in honor of November and our nonfiction loving patrons, the staff picks blogs will focus on nonfiction titles for a while. Let us know what you think in the comment section below.
