Update 10/6

Posted on October 6, 2015 at 4:33 PM by Matt Beckstrom

The construction crew has started.  To stage the materials for the new roof, a large portion of the library parking lot has been fenced off.  Due to the limited parking available during the project, the Helena Parking Commission has changed the angle parking on Park Avenue across from the library into free 2 hour parking.

The project begins!

The Library will begin a major renovation of the roof starting in October.  The entire process is scheduled to take between 4 and 6 weeks.

The contractor is scheduled to begin fencing off 18 spaces in the library parking lot on Sunday, October 4.  This space will be used as a staging area for the contractor.  They will store the materials they will use on the roof, and use the space for loading items on the roof.  During the time that the parking lot is fenced off, there will still be gates for emergency vehicles to access the front of the library.

The Helena parking commission has granted the library use of additional parking spaces on Park Avenue to make up for the temporary loss of the spaces in the lot.  Signs will be posted to help direct patrons to the new 2 hour parking spaces.
